Abstract

Three pieces from the show Pressure Points explore how an interaction with artwork can change perspective. Viewers are offered new ways of seeing and perceiving materials; the use of time, light and observation pique the 5 curiosity and arouse the hippocampus, a section of the brain, thought to be the center of emotion, memory and the autonomic nervous system.

Description

Thesis completed in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Master of Fine Arts degree in the School of Art and Design at the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, Alfred, NY.
