Abstract

Local historian, Cortez R. Clawson, collected, prepared, and published the following history of the town of Alfred in 1926. Interviews with the oldest inhabitants who were able to recall incidents of earlier days, together with access to records, allowed Clawson to gather information and correlate data leading to the production of the book, up to its current history at the time.
