| dc.description.abstract | This artistic project explores side characters in fiction through a common trope in anime and manga: the cute animal sidekick. It strives to reconcile the influences of pop culture and the world of fine art by mixing mediums and flipping expectations. Creating cute animal sidekick characters and placing them in the central role instead upsets the usual balance of manga and similar story types. This project marks a point of discovery and of new potential exploration into the dynamic nature of such oft-neglected characters. | en_US |
