This senior capstone project was a redesign of a vacuumed sealed hot press. This hot press and the funding was a joint effort between Alfred University and the University of Central Florida. The press on site had many variables to control such as operating pressure, temperature (add any additional variables) thus making it hard to obtain consistent results. My task was to take away the variables of this press to achieve the same results time and time again. The planning and purchasing all needed to be complete by January in order to build and test this over Allen term break. My approach was to break things up into different components. These included: temperature, pressure, vacuum, and design. Using the old design as a guide I had to turn it into an automated system.en_US
