Abstract
Description
Baggs writes Phelan about why he suggested pursuing the "Cranbrook Proposition" but that Phelan sensed "the existence of more dictatorship than you could comfortably swallow." He encouraged him in his decision. There are references to the family being in Marblehead, ME for part of the summer and that there had been a fire in the family home in ME that "messed things up." Baggs also mentions Ed Littlefield and Margaret teaching summer classes at OSU that year.
