My thesis explores themes of exile and isolation, and how it affects an individual and their mindset. But I write about more than just the prisoners; I write about the guards, the Warden, relatives to the prisoners, and even strangers who stumble across these men singing on an unfinished railroad. I wanted to try and figure out the different ways people try to connect to their environment, to those around them, and what happens when that fails, and why they do.en_US
