| dc.description.abstract | Many college students today are plagued with questions and uncertainties. They are struggling to discover what values they hold most dear and other such indicators of who they are as people. Emerging adulthood is a time of change, discovery, and decision. Decisions made at this time will follow young adults for the rest of their lives. Making choices about what career to pursue and what kind of person to be can be extremely challenging. Many college students are haunted by their inability to make satisfying decisions regarding their careers and are searching for answers as to why that is. This thesis undertook a critical literature review in order to better understand the choice-overload phenomenon as it relates to college uncertainty. The author sought to address three main ideas to explain decision-making problems that commonly affect college students: indecision, choice overload, and identity theory. | en_US |
