Jacquelyn Manis Collection

Jacquelyn Manis completed her Master Thesis at the University of Buffalo in 1984 on women’s work experiences in Allegany County (NY). This collection includes her thesis, interview notes and digitized files of the interview cassette tapes. Manis interviewed eight women, all born between 1900 and 1924. The interviews cover the women’s experiences from the 1920’s through to the 1960’s. Two of the women did not make it into the thesis due to her advisor’s direction but their tapes are included.
